As a military family, we are sure you are use to moving around. However, the fact that you are use to it probably doe not make it much easier for you or your family. Getting familiar with your surroundings is a process and we just want to try to make it a little bit easier for you. To assist you with preparing for your move, we have decided to include a series of posts dedicated solely to those who are either new to Fort Lee or moving to Fort Lee. Check back often as we will have updates on Fort Lee and the surrounding areas.

Fort Lee is located about three miles away from Petersburg, VA.  Fort Lee is located in Prince George County, Virginia.  Virginia has a wide variety of activities to offer those who are new to the area. These include Virginia Beach with is approximately 85 miles away, Colonial Williamsburg which is approximately 40 miles away, Charlottesville located about 85 miles away, Richmond has some wonderful museums and is about 20 miles away  and Skyline Drive is also located in Virginia. This would be an excellent choice for a long day trip or weekend getaway.
